Founded in Shenzhen in 1988
Hydrodynamic makes life jackets, wetsuits and neoprene products in its own factories in Heyuan, China, Hai Phong, Vietnam and Yangon, Myanmar, with its head office in Hong Kong. Together the three factories employ 1,600 people and can make over 5 million pieces a year.
History
From one factory in Shenzhen to our own factories in China, Vietnam and Myanmar today.
1988 Hydrodynamic founded, with its first factory in Shenzhen (workforce 160).
1992 Factory moved to Huizhou (workforce 800).
1994 Neoprene lamination department established.
2002 PFD factory opened in Dongguan. We were one of the first overseas manufacturers to earn US Coast Guard and Canadian Coast Guard approval (workforce 1,300).
2005 Construction began on the Heyuan factory: a 125,000 m² site with 110,000 m² of floor space.
2006 Heyuan factory started production in October.
2007 Bought the Sports and Leisure department of DAKA Development Company Ltd., adding electronic plastics and motorized equipment.
2009 Workforce passed 3,000.
2012 Phase II of the Heyuan project was scheduled to finish, adding another 110,000 m² of facilities.
2013 Myanmar factory began operating, with 300 workers.
2014 Myanmar workforce grew to 600.
2019 Upgraded Myanmar factory opened: 60,000 m² of facilities and 1,600 workers.
2021 Vietnam factory in Hai Duong (now part of Hai Phong) started operation in October, on 25,000 m².
